Xavier Binefa is an Associate Professor from the Information Technology and Telecommunication Department of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and

Deputy Director of its Polytechnic School. In the past was also Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from the year

1997 until 2008. He received the degree in Mathematics and Informatics and in 1996 the doctorate in Computer Science. His research activity

is orientated to cognitive aspects of Media using Computer Vision and Machine Learning techniques. He has directed three PhD about those

subjects and his research is published in more than ten International Journals and more than sixty proceedings of conferences.
